Zachary Quinto is Loved by New York City

Because everyone wants to see this masterpiece (and the presence of Zachary Quinto doesn’t hurt) the Signature Theatre Company has announced a six-week extension for the New York revival of Tony Kushner’s play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes. It will be directed by Michael Greif.

Originally, the production was going to end on December 19, 2010 but now will go on until January 30, 2010. Signature Theatre Company Artistic Director James Houghton says about the reason for the extention, “It is deeply gratifying to see the overwhelming response to Tony Kushner’s essential ANGELS IN AMERICA. We are thrilled that New York audiences are as excited about seeing this landmark work as Signature Theatre Company is about producing it.”

From the people I’ve talked to, they’re just as excited about Zachary Quinto as the play itself. It’s not just a “oh, I want to see him!” deal. Surprisingly, many of us are cultured! (But not me, psh.)
